John Beresford of Kiladangan 1867-1954 was the first of this family branch. John farmed at Kiladangan, just east of Quills Pike. John was the second son of James Beresford and Johanna Cheasty. James farmed at Deelish.

John married Mary Divine (1879 -1962) in 1900. Mary’s parents were Michael Divine and Bridget Power
John and Mary had a family of six.
Hanna born 1901, died 1951 age 50. Hannah appears to have remained single and in 1911 was living in Kilgobinet with her widowed aunt Bridget Divine and niece Nano Divine.
Nicholas born 1902, died 1924 age 22
Michael born 1903, died 1945 age 42
Phillip born 1906, may have emigrated?
Bridget, born 1908, married J. Maloney and emigrated to New Zealand.
Kitty born 1907, died 1988. Married John Power from Ballymacmague 1897-1957.
Kitty had a family of four Cyril Power, John Power, Mary Spratt and Bernadette Flynn
John Beresford was one of the seven founding members of Dungarvan Co-op and served on the management committee from 1920 to 1946, when he was elected Chairman. He served as Chairman until he died in 1954. He was a wise and capable leader. Cyril Power, grandson of John Beresford also served as Chairman of Dungarvan Co-op, carrying on the family tradition of service to the farming community.
